Tre Cime Watercolor
11"x14" Fabriano Artistico 300# CP
I started painting again this spring after a more than 15 year hiatus. It was difficult to overcome the fear of starting again. That fear was paralyzing for so long. A spring issue of the German edition of Nat Geo had a long article on the Dolomites. The photos by Georg Tappeiner so inspired me that I began drawing and painting from them and traveled to Italy to see these mountains for myself in September. Since picking up a brush again I've taken two watercolor classes at Alexandria's Art League school and have been focused on painting with watercolor. I'm inspired by the British tradition of topographic painting but have a long road to travel before my work will reflect that influence.
